They should be available to you soon. The marks for all assignments and the exam are on WebCT. If there are any problems let me know a.s.a.p. If you got a zero on something but you handed it in to me, get me another copy, electronically or on paper, a.s.a.p.

You have all been very patient waiting for your grades and I appreciate immensely.

All the best for the rest of the Spring, the Summer, and the coming year. I hope to see some of you in future classes.

Grades

02May07

Exam marks should be posted soon, and final grades soon thereafter. Could you check your grades on WebCT? If there is no grade, or a “0″, for something you handed in, please get me a copy a.s.a.p. As far as I know I have marked everything I have, but there are some grades outstanding.

Chugging along

25Apr07

Second assignments are marked, the marks are entered in WebCT, and the papers are in HH100 awaiting pick-up. So are rewrites of the first assignment, and bonus assignments. If you gave me any of these materials and there is no mark nor have I communicated with you about it, could you get me a copy a.s.a.p. Electronic is fine.

If anyone has left town and would like me to mail their work, drop me an email message with your surface address and I will send along a package once everything is marked.

a second option has been added to the third assignment.

Don’t say I never gave ya nothin’.

Final

30Mar07

In case you haven’t yet seen the schedule, the final exam for this class will be on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 9:00AM. There will be a mixture of types of questions (short; long) and considerable choice. You will be able to bring in one sheet of paper, 8 1/2 x 11 ”, written or printed on one side. I will schedule three hours but design it to be closer to two. You will have the extra time, though, if you need it.

We can talk more about it in the final class.

The third and final written assignment has been posted. Please note the new due date.

Bad decor

16Mar07

There is a new movie of The Yellow Wallpaper in post-production; not yet available, alas. But an interesting website.

Here is Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s short (very short!) “Why I Wrote The Yellow Wallpaper” (1913).

Update

16Mar07

Readings will be reversed for the next two classes (see schedule).

As some of you might know, UNBSJ’s own Emily Davidson will be performing this week in Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. And next week — will the thrills never stop?!? — Drs. Bell, Goud, and I will appear, along with Tim Turnell, in Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit. Go and see both plays. That is the culture part.

Here is the marks part: mere attendance at the play will garner you 1 per cent added to your final grade for the course (2 plays = 2%). A short review of a paragraph or so will garner you an extra point, for a total of two per cent (two plays = 4 %).

It’s win-win.
